Isn't he cute?!
I know I've sent lots of blog entries on my first day, but this is a little project my mum inspired me with this week. Korknisse are little Norwegian cork people (my other half works for a Norwegian company so am planning to make him a small army of them to sit on his desk and impress the bosses!)
Mum found the knitting pattern on the net and I translated it to crochet-ish. I completed him yesterday - very simple to stitch and quick too. The knitting pattern can be found here:
I'm happy to share my crochet pattern if anyone's interested. X
So I first bought myself some crochet hooks and a copy of Debbie Stoller's 'The Happy Hooker' to learn the basic stitches. I also purchased Ana Paula Rimoli's 'Amigurumi World'. I was inspired by the very simple patterns and the very cute toys.
Number 1 child (boy, aged 4) is mad on CBeebies Octonauts so I had a go at making his very own Captain Barnacles. I used Ana Paula Rimoli's 'Valentine Bears' as a starting point and sort of made up the hat -not sure it's quite right, which is why I haven't sewn it on yet!
