  2. Hi there - I'm very new to crochet and am enjoying your website and tutorials - fantastic thank you!!
Quick question - thought I'd try to make a toadstool! But I've got stuck on the terminology of your pattern (being the novice I am)
    3. (Sc 1, 2sc in next sc) repeat around (12)
    Does this mean ...
Sc- so single crochet into the next stitch - then --- no I just can't get my head around it - would it be too much to ask for an explanation --- sorry but I'd be sooooo grateful!!

One question if you don't mind - I thought I'd have a go at a toadstool (they are so cute) but I just can't seem to work out the pattern - could you explain step by step what this instruction is ... Just doesn't seem to look right whatever I do!!
    3. (Sc 1, 2sc in next sc) repeat around (12)
Please oh please - I'd be so grateful! 😃

  4. Hi Catherine!
So glad you like the pattern! The instructions mean make 1 sc into the first stitch then make 2scs into the next stitch. Repeat this pattern around and you'll have 12 stitches at the end of the round.
    I hope that helps!

  5. Hi Sara,

I am attempting to make the big blanket that i saw on your site. I am having trouble with the instructions (i know that sounds silly) could you post a tutorial on how to do the next steps after you have chained the 69? My blanket is not turning out straight but it's curling over :/ Thankyou soo much!

  7. I'm also trying to make your stunning ombre shawl from Inside crochet. My Bilum yarn is here and I'm raring to go. But I don't understand how to treble 'between posts of first two trebles' in row two (like Hazel!). I'd really appreciate some help if possible. Thank you! X Lou

    1. Hi Lou!
It just means that instead of making your stitch as usual into the top of the stitch, insert your hook between the trebles and make your stitch there... aaarghh, so hard to explain - use the 'contact me' form and I can email you some photographs!!!

  8. Hi Sarah. I've seen your Ombre Scarf on YouTube and would love to give it a go. However I think it's going to be difficult to find or order the magazine from Australia. Is there another way around this dilemma, or is there an easier way to purchase the pattern direct from you perhaps? Please could you give me some guidance on the best way forward. Thanks heaps! ~ heather

    1. Hi Heather,
I'm so pleased you love the shawl!
Due to my contract, this pattern belongs to the magazine for 3 months after publication. After this time, the rights return to me and I'll be able to put it in my shop - if you can hang on until June-ish...?
      Kindest regards,
      Sarah x

    1. Hi Irene - I'm so sorry to hear that you're having stitch count issues with the toadstool. Are you using a stitch marker? This is a great way to mark the first stitch of each round and keep track of where you are.
      Hope that helps,
      Sarah x

  10. How do you do the vine detail on the toadstool pattern? I couldn't see any mention of it in the pattern.

    1. Hi! I made a chain of stitches and worked one dc (US sc) in each. Make lots of different lengths and stitch them together.

  11. I found this blog on my mobile when looking for info on old Frisster Rossman sewing machines ! Nothing to do with crochet but I wonder if any of your bloggers have any info about a Frister Rossman I bought in 1970s which has a cardboard case ! It has been bent, or treated, to curve round the machine and can be shut firmly with a metal catch. I cannot see any illustrations on web for anything like it !
