Oooo, a little toadstool house.
Who lives here, I wonder?
*knock knock*
Of course! It's the little Korknisse!
How lovely to see you.
How are you?
Are there any more of you in there?
Oh how super! Lots of Korknisse.
And rainbow colours, too.
Please can I have a nice photo of you?
Oh now, that's just silly.
Please behave.
Thank you, that's better.
Now, can I take a photo indoors, so we can see you in all your summer finery?
Right, in a line please.
Really. You are just being naughty now.
Stop buggering around and behave.
That's more like it. Thank you.
Well now, that's just plain showing off now, fellas.
"Nice butterfly."
"Ta."
Oh dear, I think the sun got to me today.
'Korknisse' means 'cork elf' in Norwegian. They are traditionally knitted Christmas ornaments, but I crochet mine Amigurumi-stylie and love 'em at any time of the year.
I've already made Spring Korknisse here and Royal Wedding Korknisse here too.
Mad, but true.
I love these. How incredibly cute! I love the colours that you chose. :-)

Ahhh these are sooooo cute. I need some in my life. Looks like you had fun photographing them.
ReplyDeletehi, thanks for your lovely comment on my blog! I've been here before, and I liked your blog, but unfortunately there's no "follow" button here. This time I'll copy your url and add it to my favorites. Your little friends and their house are amazing! So cute with the little buttons and the butterfly, I think I have to try those!
ReplyDeleteLove from K-town,

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! And silly too, in the lovliest way ... such fun :D
ReplyDeleteI'm trying not to laugh out loud because my 18 year old daughter is in the room and if I tell her I am laughing at crochet round corks to make little blokes she will give me a withering look and might put me in a home.
ReplyDeleteVery funny, the comments make them come alive.

ReplyDeleteBlimey, you've made loads of these little men. They're super cute. Where did you get the pattern for the toadstool? I can't believe you haven't been crocheting your whole life, you are obv a naturally crafty person. It takes me ages to do anything.
ReplyDeleteNicki xx
Wonderfully cute it made me giggle on a dreary start to the day, I hope it's not raining in Korknisse land.

Oh dear... fancy making me giggle at little crochet people!! It was the 'buggering about' comment that did it! We obviously share the same 'occasionally crazy' gene! :)x
ReplyDeleteOh I do love your korknisse. They're so mischievous! I would definitely like to make some of these around Christmas. Although, nothing will beat your amazing royal wedding ones! (Also love the toadstool house, if I was a littley again I would fight someone for it!) x
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments- I'm glad you like the naughty little blighters.
ReplyDeleteLovely people, I shall dig out my notes from making the Toadstool and see if I can come up with something comprehensible for you!

Hi there.. and thank you muchly for your suggestion with the button thingy dilemma, i shall go and take a look at the website that you suggest.....shall i presume that you tried mine and it didn't work? love Pixie x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely bonkers, but really, really love them. I feel there may be a void in my life that can only be filled with a little cork man in a hat (would have to be dark grey, obv. Has to match the new walls).

They are sooooo cute! I can imagine the funny looks my family would give me if I made these, but I'd be prepared to risk it - they are lovely!
